How It Works
Step 1 — Install and activate.
Upload the plugin zip via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin (or install from the WordPress directory), then click Activate. Your llms.txt is live immediately at `yoursite.com/llms.txt`.
Step 2 — Choose what’s included.
Open the AMI LLMS menu in your WordPress admin. Tick the content types to include, add an optional intro paragraph, and toggle the full-content file, robots.txt lines, and last-updated dates. Running a shop? Tick Products under content types, then add Product Categories and Brands under Shop & category listings. Fine-tune individual pages from the editor sidebar — exclude a page or give it a custom description.
Step 3 — Let it run, and watch the crawlers arrive.
From here the plugin maintains itself: every publish, edit, delete, or meta-description change rebuilds the files automatically. Check theCrawler Analyticspage any time to see which AI crawlers are reading your site.

No. The files are built once and cached; they’re only rebuilt when your content changes. Regular visitors never trigger any extra work.
If installed from the WordPress directory, updates appear in your dashboard like any other plugin — one click. Manual installs are updated by uploading the new zip over the old version; your settings are kept.
Go to Settings → Permalinks and click “Save Changes” once. This refreshes WordPress’s URL rewrite rules. The plugin does this automatically on activation, but some hosting setups need the manual nudge.
The file rebuilds automatically on any content change, and is served with no-cache headers. If you still see an old version, hard-refresh your browser (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R) and purge your caching plugin or CDN once.
The plugin reads each page as it renders in a browser. If a page genuinely has little text (e.g. an image-only portfolio page), little text is what an AI crawler can read too — consider adding descriptive copy or a meta description to those pages.
Yes. Products appear as a tick box under “Content to include” as soon as WooCommerce is active, and the “Shop & category listings” setting adds your Product Categories and Brands as their own sections, each linking to the archive page with its description. Easy Digital Downloads and other shop plugins work the same way.
Yes — open the page in the editor and tick “Exclude this page from llms.txt” in the AMI LLMS file box in the sidebar.
Yes. The Manual Override box accepts your own full content. Choose Replace (your text is the whole file) or Hybrid (your text on top, with the auto-updating page listing below it).
The Crawler Analytics feature logs the time, requested file, and user-agent string of requests to the two llms files only — no IP addresses, no visitor tracking, no cookies. Records are deleted automatically after 90 days, and everything is removed on uninstall.
